What does Sustainable Entrepreneurship mean to you personally?

For me Social Entrepreneurship means putting ethics, responsibility and the interests of future generations above short-term gratifications.

The SEA honors projects that are outstanding examples of Sustainable Entrepreneurship. What persuaded you to personally support this idea?

I am a practitioner of the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) and any entrepreneurial activity that makes sustainability the cardinal benchmark of its objectives will get my unflinching support.

What do you think, how firmly rooted is Sustainable Entrepreneurship already in people's thinking and, above all, in the actions of entrepreneurs?

I can sense gradually paradigm sift of mentality. People beginning to critically look into the source of the products and services. They are also challenging convention by either taking the lead in innovation or using the consumer power to effect attitudinal change in many production facilities and industries.

Which sectors do you think are doing the most in terms of Sustainable Entrepreneurship, and which have a lot of catching up to?

Informations and Communication Technology has lowered the entry barriers that makes innovation possible. The finance and investment sector needs to do a lot of catching up. Many green-field projects of sustainability entrepreneurs especially the young ones, fail due to lack of access to funding as those with the capital still follow the conventional businesses.

As journalist and filmmaker…What role does the media play regarding the development of sustainable economic activities?

As we live in a media age, the message of sustainability and the drive to change mentality can have effective trickle down effect with strong media action. I intend to use my expertise in journalism and film-making to help disseminate the message of the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award (SEA) and the best practices of its award winners to help motivate and inspire others.

In what way can each and every one of us contribute towards increasing the relevance of Sustainable Entrepreneurship?

We don’t need to wait to be told. Each and every one can play a key role by starting with oneself. If we modify out daily consumption patterns and channel our resources towards the common good, we have prevail in consolidating the Sustainable Entrepreneurship philosophy.

How would you judge Austria's position in the development of Sustainable Entrepreneurship?

Austria as a Central European country is playing a pivotal role in the development of Sustainable Entrepreneurship as the home country of the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award (SEA) which is attracting global attention. The Capital, Vienna is an international city, making is easier to market the SE to the global audiences in a cost-effective way. Hopefully over time, Austria will support the SE idea in the developing and emerging countries that are open to innovation.

What advantages do companies have that implement Sustainable Entrepreneurship respectively integrate SE in their core business?

Companies that implement the SEA will get the first mover-advantages in their industry. The future belongs to the sustainability as more young people who are the next generation consumers are getting more conscious of the value change of the products they spend their monies on.

And lastly, a personal question: Which is the most memorable SE project you've ever heard of - and why?

I ran into the SE project by chance. When I got the call for entry for the first time in 2014, I was so impressed that I decided to publish it on my NTI XANNEN Rajon Do Television(NXR.tv): http://www.ntixannen.com without delay.

The SE project and the SEA naturally reflect my world-view and passion for ethical business models and I am looking forward to playing my part in advancing the global cause of the SE agenda.
