The Future is here: Europe’s first grid connected wave energy array

The Gibraltarian Project was officially 'switched-on' by the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, Hon. Fabian R Picardo and by the Minister of Health, Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Dr. John Cortes. Moreover, the Company received Pioneering Technology status from the Chief Scientist of the Energy Ministry in Israel Dr. Bracha Halaf.

Success Story: one of the SEA-Endorsers
Matthew Olaide Adetunji

Founder of EFBI (Food Banking and Investment e-Systems) and currently working for 'The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation' (CTA) in the field of Value Chain Finance

'The best way everyone can participate in Sustainable Entrepreneurship is through our communication and commitment-to-action.'

Matthew works currently in the area of digital financial inclusion. Specifically, related to smallholder farmers in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific regions; ensuring smallholder farmers are participating in inclusive agribusiness models, having dynamic access to affordable and economically efficient financing and other innovative resources in their production.

It is estimated that over 2 Billion of adult’s population in the world now are without bank account and lack access to efficient credit facilities. Most of these people are said to be poor, located in dispersed remote settlements. They can be effectively reached via digital technologies. Having access to inclusive digital credit facilities means a lot to their economic development and efficient trade flow and participation in agribusinesses.

Currently he is co-writing a book on 'Inclusive agricultural value chain financing' looking into emerging techniques to finance agricultural development and simultaneously integrating smallholder farmers into agricultural trade flow and the wholesale of financing. In the long term, his work stands for sustainable development; promoting 'No hunger' and 'No poverty'.

Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet

by Bill McKibben (2011)

Twenty years ago, with The End of Nature, Bill McKibben offered one of the earliest warnings about global warming. Those warnings went mostly unheeded; now, he insists, we need to acknowledge that we've waited too long, and that massive change is not only unavoidable but already under way. Our old familiar globe is suddenly melting, drying, acidifying, flooding, and burning in ways that no human has ever seen. We've created, in very short order, a new planet, still recognizable but fundamentally different. We may as well call it Eaarth.

That new planet is filled with new binds and traps. A changing world costs large sums to defend—think of the money that went to repair New Orleans, or the trillions it will take to transform our energy systems. But the endless economic growth that could underwrite such largesse depends on the stable planet we've managed to damage and degrade. We can't rely on old habits any longer.
