Extension of the cooperation with one of our partners
We are very happy about the extension of our partnership with the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV) for 2016.
The organisation of the IV relies on both voluntary officials and full-time employees. Members of the Federation of Austrian Industries are served by nine independent, regional organisations, the federal organisation and an office located in Brussels. As a lobby, the IV aims to strengthen industry and secure employment. It represents the concerns of its members both in Austria and on the wider European stage. Austrian industry is pioneering in European integration. The Federation of Austrian Industries is therefore strongly oriented towards the agenda of the European Union. It is a member of the Confederation of European Business and social partners, BUSINESSEUROPE.
Google has ploughed millions of dollars into creating what it believes is the future of electronics: Modularity. Through Project “Ara”, the tech giant has set out on a mission to transform the most ubiquitous of modern day technologies and create the world's first modular smartphone. Unfortunately for them, a small Dutch start-up has beaten them to the punch.
Fairphone is a social enterprise that is building a movement to fairer electronics. By making a phone, they are opening up the supply chain and creating new relationships between people and their products. They are making a positive impact across the value chain in mining, design, manufacturing and life cycle, while expanding the market for products that put ethical values first. Together with their community, they’re changing the way products are made.
A Swiss innovation suitable for every Nespresso coffee machine made from medical stainless steel. The capsule is a high precision quality design and lasts a lifetime. It can be filled with every coffee powder, of course even with Fair Trade coffee. Compared to the one-way capsules of Nespresso up to 500 EUR a year and a lot of waste can be saved.
The sustainability portal Utopia has tested four different systems, all of them compatible with Nespresso machines and listed ups and downs. The refillable capsule from the swiss company Mycoffeestar has won, as the capsules are built particularly robust and long-lasting.
The company pursues a sustainable business model (Corporate Sustainability) and offers insurance to sustainable oriented private- and business clients. Dictionary of Corporate Social Responsibility - CSR, Sustainability, Ethics and Governance
Editors by Idowu, S.O., Capaldi, N., Fifka, M., Zu, L., Schmidpeter, R. (Eds.) (2015)
This book is a concise and authoritative reference work and dictionary in the field of corporate social responsibility, sustainability, business ethics and corporate governance. It provides reliable definitions to more than 600 terms and concepts for researchers and professionals alike. By its definitions the dictionary helps users to understand the meanings of commonly used terms in CSR, and the roles and functions of CSR-related international organizations. Furthermore, it helps to identify keynotes on international guidelines, codes and principles relevant to CSR. The role of CSR in the business world has developed from a fig leaf marketing front into an important and indispensable aspect of corporate behaviour over the past years. Sustainable strategies are valued, desired and deployed more and more by relevant players in business, politics, and societies all over the world. Both research and corporate practice therefore see CSR as a guiding principle for business success.
