“We found the SEA initiative and the SEA Gala event very well organized and we think it can give our project a higher exposure to the International arena. We have received very positive comments and wishes during the gala, we look forward receiving some interest in the following weeks and possibly find out some interested partner to cover specific geographical areas. We would indeed recommend the participation to other companies with sustainable projects as we deem this platform as a unique international opportunity for Sustainable and Innovative projects”, Giovanni De Lisi, CEO & Founder.

“The SEA-Gala 2015 was really good, the venue was great, the food, the show. We really enjoyed interacting and taking with the people invited and the other winners. It is a nice recognition to have an award as the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award. Thank you very much. We got really interesting feedback, we exchanged lots of ideas with the other winners and it is a great opportunity to be recognised with an award like this one”, Rodrigo García González, CEO & Founder.
Chance for Start-ups: For the first time, the SEA Innovation Convention took place before the gala evening. Selected Start-ups had the possibility to present their project to a number of potential investors, interested visitors and guests. This event will be a fixed part of the SEA – Initiative and will be a meeting point to build important alliances between companies, entrepreneurs and investors. A list with all the exhibitors can be downloaded on our website.

"For the first Convention in the course of the SEA Gala, I can call this a complete success. Certainly the normal evolutionary process must be launched and run through, to experience these two events in perfect symbiosis. For the first performance, it was a worthy pre-act for the SEA Gala. A door has been opened for the convention guests and potential investors, through which they could see the potential of the projects submitted.
We do know our strengths very well but this feedback we have not expected. We were surprised by the general interest in sustainable solutions. The contacts we have made can be described as fertile ground, it is clear to us that a seed fallen on fertile soil needs time to be harvested but with work and care something big can develop.
I think we are on the same chapter as every start-up; each contact and each possibility to present our solution is a chance that we like to take. Unfortunately possibilities to present ourselves in this kind of surrounding are very rare, therefore I can only speak for all start-ups more events of this kind should be organized. This is not only important for young entrepreneurs it is also important for potential investors, they do profit from such an award in the same"

France will be chairing the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11), which will be held in Paris from November 30 to December 11. This Conference is a crucial event, because it needs to result in a new international climate agreement, applicable to all countries. The agreement will need to be universal and sustainable. It will need to send economic and political signals to make the economic development model shift to a new path, which needs to lead to carbon neutrality by the end of the century and compliance with the goal of keeping global warming below the 2°C ceiling.
William McDonough & Michael Braungart’s newest book — Designing for Abundance, is an updated version of their manifesto Cradle to Cradle, published over a decade ago. The Upcycle goes one step beyond the theory behind Cradle to Cradle: Rather than continuously reusing materials in a closed-loop system as proposed in the first book, The Upcycle suggests that humans can have a net positive effect.
