Preview of interview with Christina Weidinger, Al Gore Climate Reality Leader
What do you think of the much-quoted saying that it is already “5 minutes to midnight”?
The best way to predict the future is to shape it. In current times this saying is truer than ever. To answer your question: yes, as far as the climate question is concerned it is still just before midnight. Yet the most eminent scientists on our planet are warning us every day that we may have no more than 8-10 years to prevent the worst consequences of climate change with innovative solutions. This climate change is already leading to unimaginable consequences today. It is entirely clear: the time to act has arrived!

Calling for tree donations to support the Children in their fight for their future
Barneo, Arctic, April 04th 2014 Felix (16) marked the beginning of the 50+-day expedition from the North Pole to Canada by symbolically planting a tree. Starting today, the polar explorers Bernice Notenboom, Martin Hartley und Eric Philips will cover a distance of approximately 20 km on a daily basis to renew public awareness of the climate crisis. With this expedition, the explorers are supporting the children of Plant-for-the-Planet, who have been fighting for climate justice and their future since 2007.
The expedition shall show the disastrous effects the melting of the Arctic ice shield will have. Felix Finkbeiner: “It’s not about the polar bear, it’s about the world climate losing its refrigerator. Some are happy about the meltdown since it’ll open up the sea bottom for oil drilling – something which will once and for all destroy the future of us children. We ask everybody to plant trees! Capture the dangerous greenhouse gas CO2“. Make a SEA tree donation here

Felix started the children and youth initiative www.plant-for-the-planet.org in 2007. 13 billion new trees have been planted in the last seven years. The goal is to reach 1.000 billion trees, what is a 150 trees per person.

The Globalisation of Love – Book by Wendy Williams
One of the most profound influences of globalisation is that people from everywhere are falling in love with people from everywhere else. The Globalisation of Love is about the whirls and twirls, the quirks and perks, the frustrations and the fun of a multicultural relationship. Multicultural couples have all the issues that exist in monocultural relationships, plus whatever colourful combination of culture, language, religion and ethnicity the couple bring into their marriage. Based on dozens of interviews with multicultural couples from around the world, The Globalisation of Love includes chapters on multicultural weddings, religion, race, food, language and children and a whole lot more. It is both humorous and factual and the author includes personal anecdotes from her own experience in a multicultural family.
